Operation Details

Significance of the Seizure

Ongoing Investigations
Authorities have launched a full-scale investigation to uncover the source of the cocaine, the intended recipients, and any potential accomplices within Ghana and beyond. The driver and occupants of the truck have been taken into custodyfor interrogation.
A joint security task force, including the Ghana Police Service, Ghana Revenue Authority (Customs Division), and the Narcotics Control Commission (NACOC), has been deployed to track down other individuals connected to the smuggling operation.
Government’s Commitment to the Fight Against Drugs
The government has reaffirmed its zero-tolerance policy on drug trafficking. In a statement, the NIB emphasized its commitment to intelligence-led operations to combat organized crime and drug syndicates operating in Ghana.
This latest seizure underscores Ghana’s strategic importance in the global drug trade and the need for heightened vigilance in border security and port surveillance.
