NIA Begins Ghana Card Issuance in Greater Accra Region

The National Identification Authority (NIA) has officially commenced the issuance of Ghana Cards in the Greater Accra Region, starting today, April 7, 2025. This exercise aims to ensure that all eligible Ghanaians receive their national identification cards, which are essential for accessing various governmental and private services.
Registration Centers and Operating Hours
To facilitate the process, the NIA has set up multiple registration centers across the Greater Accra Region. These centers will operate from Monday to Friday, between 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM. Residents are encouraged to visit the designated centers to complete their registration and obtain their Ghana Card.
Who Can Apply for the Ghana Card?
All Ghanaian citizens, including those who have not yet registered or collected their Ghana Cards, are eligible to participate in this exercise. To apply, individuals must present valid identification documents such as:
