Kwame Poku Signs for QPR from Peterborough in Permanent Deal

Ghanaian midfielder Kwame Poku has completed a permanent move to English Championship side Queens Park Rangers (QPR), joining from League One outfit Peterborough United after four successful years.
The 23-year-old impressed with his consistent performances at Peterborough, making 147 appearances, scoring 30 goals, and providing 30 assists across all competitions.
Speaking to QPR’s media team following the announcement, Poku expressed excitement about the new challenge.
“I feel like the project they’re building here excites me and I want to be part of taking QPR to that next level,” he said. “There’s good players here and I think it’s exciting times for the club.”
Poku is no stranger to the Championship, having featured during the 2019/20 season. He believes he has developed significantly since then and is ready to contribute more effectively.
“I think I had some good performances, good on the ball. What separated then from now was the statistical side of it,” he explained. “Coming into this team where there’s a lot of good attacking players and good all-rounded players as well, I think I’ll create more chances, be at the end of a lot of chances and get more numbers.”
Poku, known for his left-footed creativity and vision, has also represented Ghana’s national team, the Black Stars, earning his first cap in March 2021.

His signing marks another step in QPR’s plans to rebuild and push for a strong campaign in the upcoming season.
