Independence day celebration at Jubilee House cost Ghana Ghc 1.5 million

President of Ghana, John Dramani Mahama, has highlighted that the decision to scale down the Independence Day celebration this year has resulted in significant savings for the country. The reduced celebration cost the nation only Ghc 1.5 million, compared to the Ghc 20 million that would have been spent if the event had been held at the Independence Square as in previous years.

Mahama emphasized that scaling down the festivities did not diminish the significance of the celebration. He explained that his administration’s focus is on promoting modesty and prudence when managing the nation’s resources.

The President also pointed out that last year, the cost of the Independence Day celebration was Ghc 15 million, a reduction from the Ghc 13 million spent the previous year. This ongoing trend of cost-cutting measures demonstrates Mahama’s commitment to fiscal responsibility and efficient resource management.
