Health Ministry Clarifies Anne Sansa Daly’s NHIA Board Appointment Before Swearing-In

The Ministry of Health has officially clarified reports surrounding the appointment of Ms. Anne Sansa Daly to the board of the National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA), revealing that her nomination was revoked just days after it was made and that she was never sworn in.
Swift Reversal After Initial Appointment
According to a press release signed by the Ministry’s spokesperson, Tony Goodman, Ms. Daly was issued an appointment letter on May 19, 2025, as part of a new composition of the NHIA Board. However, on May 23, 2025, a second letter was issued by the appropriate authority revoking her appointment.

This reversal came before the scheduled swearing-in ceremony held on May 27, 2025, which the Ministry clarified Ms. Daly did not attend or participate in.
Ministry Refutes Media Reports and Emphasizes Transparency
The Ministry strongly denied allegations published by Graphic Online suggesting Ms. Daly had been sworn in. It clarified that such reports were inaccurate and not based on facts.
“The Ministry assures the public of its commitment to transparency and due process in all matters relating to public appointments,” the release stated.
The statement emphasized that no official swearing-in of Ms. Daly took place, and her replacement had been appointed before the event.
While the press release did not confirm who the new appointee is, credible reports indicate that Prof. Dr. (Med) Ernest Yorke, a respected medical professional, has been nominated to fill the vacant seat.
This clarification comes amid growing public concern over transparency and due diligence in state appointments—especially within key national agencies such as the NHIA.
