“The manner in which the CEO was removed and the subsequent treatment of our colleagues at TTH is not only unlawful but sets a dangerous precedent,” the GMA stated. “This is an attack on the very fabric of professional governance and healthcare integrity.”

The Association stressed that healthcare administrators and medical staff must operate in environments free from political interference and public intimidation if Ghana is to maintain and strengthen its healthcare standards.

Calls for Reinstatement and Protection

The GMA is calling for the immediate reinstatement of the dismissed CEO pending proper investigation procedures, and has demanded a public apology and security assurances for medical staff currently working under tense and unsafe conditions.

On X (formerly Twitter), hashtags like #SupportTTHDoctors and #JusticeForHealthcareWorkers began trending by midday. Many users shared stories of the vital role doctors at the Tamale Teaching Hospital have played in saving lives, urging government and local authorities to act responsibly and protect medical professionals.
