Speaking in an interview with Adom FM, the former musician and social commentator lamented the low salaries of MPs. “Our salaries are too little. After all deductions are made, we are left with GHC 15,000,” he said in Twi. “It’s not good.”

Kwame A Plus’ Reflection

Reflecting on his earnings before entering politics, Kwame pointed to 2020 as a particularly successful year, saying his daily income during that period exceeded his current monthly salary. “One of these days I’ll make my bank statement public. The amount of money I was making in a day was more than my entire salary as an MP,” he revealed.

He commended his colleagues in Parliament, stressing that they do a lot of work for very little pay. A Plus admitted that prior to joining Parliament, he held misconceptions about MPs, but now better understands their challenges and the calls for improved conditions.

Known for his outspoken nature and years of holding politicians accountable, A Plus now says his experience in Parliament has given him new perspective, allowing him to see things from both sides of the political aisle.
