YEA Partner Ghana Police to Recruit 12,000 Youth Nationwide as Community Police Assistants

The Youth Employment Agency (YEA), led by CEO Malik Basintale, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Ghana Police Service. The partnership will facilitate the recruitment of 12,000 young people across the country as Community Police Assistants (CPAs).

Enhancing Community Policing While Creating Jobs

The nationwide recruitment drive is part of YEA’s broader strategy to empower Ghanaian youth with sustainable job opportunities while bolstering the Ghana Police Service’s capacity to provide effective grassroots security.

According to credible reports from JoyNews and other verified media sources, the CPAs will support police operations by engaging directly with community members, reporting incidents, and assisting with neighborhood patrols. The program is designed to bridge the gap between citizens and the police, promoting trust and proactive crime prevention.

Training and Deployment in Focus

Selected candidates will undergo rigorous training to prepare them for their new roles. The curriculum will include basic law enforcement techniques, community engagement strategies, ethics, and communication skills. Upon successful completion, the recruits will be deployed across all 16 regions to support local police stations and community watch structures.
