Phone dealer Nana Yaw Kyere, popularly known as Terry or Dinero, has been found dead days after he reportedly went missing following a suspected meeting with a client at Teshie in Accra.
His family confirmed his death in a statement, expressing deep sorrow over the development and appealing to the public to respect
their privacy as investigations continue into the circumstances surrounding his death.
“It is with profound sadness that we share that, after his disappearance, Nana Yaw Kyere has been found. Regrettably, he was not found alive,” the family stated.
The circumstances surrounding the phone dealer’s disappearance and death remain unclear, although unconfirmed reports claim he may have been kidnapped, killed and buried after allegedly being lured to a location in Teshie.
According to an account attributed to a colleague who was reportedly the last person to communicate with Dinero, he sent a WhatsApp message around midnight on Sunday claiming that he had been “set up” by a girl in a room.
He reportedly accompanied the message with a photograph of the room and a location pointing to Teshie.
The colleague is said to have become suspicious during the exchange because the messages allegedly differed from Nana Yaw’s usual manner of communication.
A later message reportedly suggested that Nana Yaw had been released and had left the location. However, his failure to return home subsequently raised further concerns.
Attempts to reach him by phone were reportedly unsuccessful, prompting efforts to locate him.
His vehicle has since been retrieved, while three suspects have reportedly been arrested in connection with the case. Investigations are ongoing to establish what happened to the phone dealer and the circumstances that led to his death.
The family has expressed appreciation to individuals who supported the search for Nana Yaw and those who offered assistance and prayers during the period of his disappearance.
