Newly elected New Patriotic Party (NPP) Ashanti Regional Chairman, Odeneho Kwaku Appiah, popularly known as COKA, has pledged to prioritise action over rhetoric as he begins his tenure with a drive to unite the party and rebuild its grassroots structures.
COKA said his administration would work to address concerns across all 47 constituencies, heal internal divisions and strengthen the party’s grassroots base ahead of the 2028 general elections.

He made the commitment at a breakfast meeting with the party’s Founding Fathers, Council of Elders and newly elected Ashanti Regional executives in Kumasi on Monday, August 17, 2026.
Outlining his leadership approach, COKA said he would adopt a “less talk, more work” strategy, with greater emphasis on grassroots mobilisation and tangible results rather than frequent media appearances and political rhetoric.
The work will be less talk and noise but more work. Naturally, I don’t talk much, and that is how we are going to work,” he said.
According to COKA, the success of his administration would ultimately be measured by the party’s performance in the 2028 elections.
“We will work more so that the results will reflect in 2028,” he added.
COKA expressed confidence that he and the newly elected regional executives could deliver meaningful results during their tenure.
“God knows I can do the work in this period, and that is why, together with the other executives elected, we have come at the time,” he said.
He also appealed to the party’s Founding Fathers and Council of Elders to support efforts to rebuild and strengthen the NPP in the Ashanti Region.
COKA assured party members that his administration would remain open to ideas and contributions from all sections of the party.
“My doors are open to all members to bring ideas and support towards rebuilding the party,” he said.
As part of his plans to strengthen the party’s regional operations, COKA disclosed that a new office space had been secured for the NPP in Danyame.
He said the new administration would cut sod for the construction of the party’s new regional office within its first 100 days in office.
The new chairman’s emphasis on grassroots mobilisation, unity and practical results comes as the NPP begins preparations to regain political ground ahead of the 2028 general elections.
