The Ghana Medical Trust Fund (GMTF) has entered into a partnership healthcarewith MDS-Lancet Laboratories Ghana Limited and Quest Medical Imaging to expand access to quality diagnostic services and strengthen healthcare delivery across the country.
The partnership is expected to improve early disease detection and support better clinical decision-making by making timely, accurate, and reliable diagnostic services more accessible to Ghanaians, particularly people living with chronic and non-communicable diseases.
The agreement brings together the mandate of the Ghana Medical Trust Fund to support the prevention and treatment of non-communicable diseases with the diagnostic expertise of MDS-Lancet Laboratories Ghana Limited and Quest Medical Imaging.
Speaking at the signing ceremony, GMTF Administrator Adjoa Obuobia Darko-Opoku described the agreement as an important step in the Fund’s efforts to establish strategic partnerships that can improve healthcare delivery.
She said the collaboration reflects the commitment of the three institutions to making quality healthcare more accessible to people across Ghana.
“Today marks a significant milestone as the Ghana Medical Trust Fund, MDS-Lancet Laboratories Ghana Limited and Quest Medical Imaging formally establish a partnership that reflects our shared commitment to improving access to quality healthcare for the people of Ghana,” she said.
Ms. Darko-Opoku noted that accurate and timely diagnosis is essential to effective treatment and described the partnership as an investment in the health and wellbeing of Ghanaians.
She also expressed appreciation to the leadership of MDS-Lancet Laboratories and Quest Medical Imaging for their confidence in the partnership, reaffirming the Fund’s commitment to working with stakeholders to address the country’s growing burden of non-communicable diseases.
The Chief Executive Officer of MDS-Lancet Laboratories Ghana Limited, Dr. Paul Sekyere-Nyantakyi, also welcomed the partnership, saying it supports the company’s commitment to providing accessible and high-quality diagnostic services across Ghana.
He expressed optimism that the collaboration would expand access to advanced diagnostic testing and contribute to improved health outcomes for patients.
The three institutions said the partnership is built around a shared goal of strengthening Ghana’s healthcare system through innovation, expertise, and strategic collaboration.
Beyond improving access to diagnostic services, the initiative is expected to support the early detection of diseases and enable healthcare professionals to make more informed treatment decisions through timely and accurate diagnoses.
