Ghana Gas has recorded an impressive financial performance in 2025, posting a 97% increase in net profit while expanding gas processing and Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) production.

The company’s performance was announced during its 8th Annual General Meeting (AGM) held on Thursday at the Palms by Eagles Conference Room, where shareholders reviewed the 2025 Annual Report and Financial Statements.

Speaking at the meeting, Minister for Energy and Green Transition, John Abdulai Jinapor, commended Ghana Gas for its outstanding operational and financial achievements.

According to the Minister, the company’s growth demonstrates its critical role in ensuring energy security and supporting the government’s Gas-to-Power agenda.

“Ghana Gas delivered strong results, recording growth in gas processing and LPG production, alongside an impressive 97% increase in net profit,” Mr. Jinapor said.

“These achievements reaffirm the Company’s vital role in strengthening Ghana’s energy security and supporting the Government’s Gas-to-Power agenda.”

The Minister noted that the results place Ghana Gas among Ghana’s best-performing state-owned enterprises, highlighting the impact of efficient management and strategic investment.

The Ghana Gas 2025 performance comes at a time when demand for reliable energy continues to grow as the country pursues industrialisation and economic expansion.

Natural gas remains a major source of fuel for Ghana’s thermal power generation, making the company’s operations essential to maintaining a stable electricity supply across the country.

The Minister described Ghana Gas as a key pillar of Ghana’s energy security, noting that its contribution extends beyond power generation to supplying natural gas for other sectors of the economy.

Despite the strong financial results, Mr. Jinapor urged the company’s management not to become complacent.

He encouraged Ghana Gas to continue improving operational reliability through regular maintenance and modernisation while expanding infrastructure to meet rising energy demand.

The Minister also called for greater investment in projects that align with Ghana’s energy transition and long-term sustainability goals.

“Ghana’s energy demands are increasing, and the Company must be positioned to meet these challenges head-on,” he said.

He assured management of the Ministry’s continued support, adding that government would work closely with Ghana Gas to strengthen its capacity and position it as a key driver of the country’s energy transformation.

The Minister said the collaboration would help the company play a bigger role not only in gas processing and transmission but also in Ghana’s broader green energy transition.

The 8th Annual General Meeting also gave shareholders the opportunity to review the company’s progress and discuss strategies for sustaining its contribution to Ghana’s energy sector.

Discussions focused on strengthening operational efficiency, expanding infrastructure, and ensuring Ghana Gas remains well-positioned to meet future energy demands while supporting national development.
