Uber Eats is expanding its AI capabilities with the launch of “Cart Assistant,” a new feature designed to simplify grocery shopping on its platform. The AI tool allows users to automatically populate their shopping cart using either text descriptions or image prompts, making it faster and easier to select groceries.

By leveraging machine learning, the Cart Assistant can recognize items from photos, suggest complementary products, and streamline the ordering process. The feature is aimed at reducing the friction of browsing and manual selection, particularly for users ordering large grocery lists or looking for quick meal prep solutions.

Uber Eats says the AI assistant is part of a broader push to integrate generative AI across its platform, enhancing convenience for users while improving personalization in product recommendations. The feature is currently rolling out in select markets and will expand gradually to a wider audience in 2026.

With this launch, Uber Eats joins other food and grocery delivery platforms increasingly deploying AI tools to improve user experience, boost engagement, and drive higher order volumes.
