Respected international development publication Devex has ranked Ghana’s President, John Dramani Mahama, as the 5th most powerful person in the world of development and changemaking. The recognition highlights his leadership role in advancing the Accra Reset agenda amid significant global shifts in international cooperation.
Devex’s annual list honours individuals shaping the global development landscape through policy influence, strategic partnerships, and transformative initiatives. President Mahama’s inclusion at number five reflects his efforts to reposition Ghana as a proactive voice in global development discourse, promote equitable cooperation, and strengthen South–South and multilateral partnerships.
The Accra Reset agenda, which has become central to Ghana’s foreign policy and development strategy, emphasises inclusive growth, sustainable investment flows, and reforms in development financing.
