The Supreme Court of Ghana has overturned the Tamale High Court’s ruling that nullified the 2024 parliamentary election results for the Kpandai Constituency, effectively quashing the proposed rerun. The decision was passed by a 4-1 majority, with Justice Gabriel Scott Pwamang dissenting.
This ruling confirms the election of the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) Mathew Nyindam as the duly elected Member of Parliament for Kpandai. The Supreme Court’s judgment prevents any rerun of the election, ending the legal uncertainty surrounding the constituency’s representation in Parliament.
The full, reasoned judgment from the Supreme Court is expected to be released on 6th February 2026, providing detailed legal justification for the decision.

This development closes a chapter on the Kpandai electoral dispute and reinforces the legal standing of Nyindam’s victory in the 2024 polls, allowing the constituency to move forward with stable parliamentary representation.
