Comedian Funny Face joins Ignite Media Group as part of comeback to mainstream media

Ghanaian comedian and entertainer Benson Nana Yaw Oduro Boateng, popularly known as Funny Face, has joined the Ignite Media Group family and will appear across the group’s platforms, including Metro TV, Original TV and Original 91.9 FM, signalling a high-profile return to mainstream media after a period away from the spotlight.

Ignite Media Group, which owns Metro TV Ghana, one of the country’s major free-to-air television networks, and its associated radio and digital properties, confirmed Funny Face would be featured in upcoming programming. Metro TV is part of the Jospong Group of Companies, a prominent Ghanaian conglomerate with interests in media, real estate and services.

Funny Face first rose to prominence in the early 2010s, particularly through his role on TV3’s comedy series Chorkor Trotro and his breakthrough appearance on the Night of 1010 Laughs. After achieving national fame with comedy shows, skits and public performances, he experienced a period marked by personal challenges and reduced visibility in mainstream media. In recent years he has been rebuilding his public profile and preparing new content, publicly expressing his commitment to returning to entertainment with renewed focus and purpose.
