Shatta Wale Endorses King Promise for TGMA Artist of the Year

Ghanaian dancehall superstar Shatta Wale has publicly endorsed his colleague, King Promise, to win the coveted 2025 Artist of the Year award at the upcoming Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMA).

In a video spotted by GhanaCelebrities.Com, the two artists were seen cruising in a luxurious Rolls Royce Cullinan as Shatta Wale threw his weight behind the ‘Favourite Story’ hitmaker.

As the camera zoomed in on the duo, Shatta Wale declared: “That’s my artist of the year.”

King Promise Eyes the Crown After Last Year’s Loss

King Promise has launched an aggressive campaign to clinch the 2025 TGMA Artist of the Year title after narrowly missing out on the award last year.

The ‘Terminator’ hitmaker recently appointed media personality Tilly Akua Nipaa as his official spokesperson for the award campaign. Nipaa has been making waves across media platforms, defending King Promise’s claim to the crown and facing off against representatives of other top artists.

TGMA 2025 Slated for May 10

The 2025 Telecel Ghana Music Awards is scheduled for Saturday, May 10, 2025, at the Grand Arena of the Conference Centre in Accra.

King Promise is currently the frontrunner but faces tough competition from defending champion StonebwoyKing Paluta, and other top acts.

King Promise Dominates in Streaming Numbers

According to his spokesperson Tilly Akua Nipaa, streaming statistics solidly back King Promise’s bid for the title.

Speaking during a recent media appearance, she stated:

“If we are going by the numbers, King Promise is far ahead of anyone else. He deserves the crown.”

Nipaa provided figures to support her claim:

  • On Spotify, King Promise boasts 100 million streams,
  • King Paluta has 8 million,
  • Stonebwoy lags with only 6 million streams.

When it comes to monthly listeners:

  • King Promise commands 2.1 million monthly streams,
  • Stonebwoy records around 400,000,
  • King Paluta garners only 164,000.

With such commanding numbers, King Promise’s team insists he is the undisputed choice for Artist of the Year 2025.
