A routine security checkpoint operation in Bolgatanga has uncovered a troubling cache of ammunition just days before Ghana’s national elections. Officers of the Ghana Police Service intercepted a KIA bus (GW 6471-22) traveling from Kumasi to Bawku and discovered boxes containing approximately 1,800 rounds of ammunition.

The alarming find was made during a standard inspection, which quickly escalated when the concealed ammunition was uncovered. One suspect believed to be directly linked to the cache was immediately arrested and is currently in police custody assisting with investigations.
