A social media user on platform X has stirred public curiosity after suggesting that Charlotte Osei, former Chairperson of the Electoral Commission, is being quietly considered as a potential replacement for Ghana’s current Vice President, Professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang.
The claim surfaced following the Vice President’s health scare on Friday, March 29, 2025, which saw her rushed to the University of Ghana Medical Centre (UGMC) and later recommended for further treatment abroad.

A day after the incident, Felix Kwakye Ofosu, Minister for Government Communications and Spokesperson to the President, issued a statement confirming that the Vice President had received initial medical attention and was advised to seek extended treatment outside Ghana.
According to reports, Prof. Opoku-Agyemang began a three-week medical break on April 7, 2025, in line with medical recommendations.
