Sam George exposes alleged revenue diversion at NITA

The Minister for Communication, Digital Technology, and Innovations, Samuel Nartey George, has alleged that the previous Akufo-Addo administration engaged in a third-party contract that diverted revenue from the National Information Technology Agency (NITA).

According to the minister, despite NITA’s infrastructure being used for service operations, the revenue generated is redirected to a third-party company, leaving only GH₵25 in NITA’s account. He criticized the deal, calling it detrimental to Ghana’s digital transformation efforts.

George’s allegations have sparked concerns over mismanagement and financial irregularities within the country’s IT sector, with calls for an investigation into the contractual arrangements.

The minister has vowed to review and rectify the situation, ensuring that NITA retains full control over its revenue streams to enhance its operations and expand Ghana’s digital infrastructure.
