Martha Ankomah Clears the Air on Settlement Agreement with Lil Win: “I Don’t Want a Dime”

Ghanaian actress Martha Ankomah has addressed recent reports regarding the settlement of her defamation lawsuit against Kumawood actor Kwadwo Nkansah, popularly known as Lil Win. In a recent interview on Adom FM with host Mike 2, she denied claims that they had agreed on a GH₵300,000 settlement, making it clear that her priority is a public apology and retraction rather than financial compensation.
Clarification on the Settlement
Martha Ankomah revealed that the presiding judge in the case has instructed Lil Win to draft a proper apology, which will be reviewed in court on April 1, 2025, before it can be made public. She emphasized that her lawsuit, which initially sought GH₵5 million in damages, was not about money but about accountability.
“I wouldn’t take anything from him… I don’t want a dime from him. I just want him to do the right thing so that people will know that you can’t just do things and get away with it in this country,” she stated.
Holding Public Figures Accountable
Ankomah’s legal action, she explained, is meant to set a precedent for accountability, especially among celebrities and public figures. She believes that individuals should be responsible for their words and actions, particularly when their statements can harm someone’s reputation.
Although Lil Win had previously made public apologies, Ankomah argued that they lacked sincerity and failed to retract the defamatory statements. She expressed her willingness to resolve the matter if he issues a genuine and properly worded apology, as mandated by the court.
With the next court hearing set for April 1, 2025, all eyes are on Lil Win to see whether he will comply with the ruling and formally retract his statements. Until then, Martha Ankomah remains firm in her stance, prioritizing integrity over monetary compensation.
