The Ministry of Health has outlined the mandate of a special committee established to investigate allegations of unethical medical practices at the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital and the Greater Accra Regional Hospital (Ridge).
According to the Ministry, the key objectives of the committee include conducting a comprehensive and independent inquiry into reported unethical medical practices at the two facilities. The committee will also assess the adequacy and effectiveness of existing governance, oversight and control systems in preventing unethical and unauthorised practices within the affected health institutions.
The Health Minister has directed the committee to submit its final report and recommendations to the Ministry by 10 February 2026.
The Ministry of Health has assured the general public of its full cooperation with the committee and reiterated its unwavering commitment to upholding ethical standards and restoring public confidence in Ghana’s healthcare system.
