Essikado Ketan MP emphasizes efficient health supply chains at AGM

The Member of Parliament for Essikado Ketan has delivered a keynote address at the 17th Annual General Meeting of Health Supply Chain Professionals, emphasizing the critical role of efficient supply chains in improving healthcare delivery in Ghana.
In his speech, the MP highlighted how streamlined procurement, distribution, and logistics systems are essential for ensuring that hospitals and clinics receive the right medical supplies at the right time. He noted that a robust health supply chain can significantly reduce stockouts, wastage, and delays, ultimately saving lives and improving patient outcomes.
Essikado Ketan called for greater investment in capacity building for supply chain personnel, including training programs and access to modern technology. He emphasized that strengthening human resources in this sector is as important as infrastructural development. Advanced inventory management systems, real-time monitoring, and data analytics were identified as key tools for modernizing supply chains.
The MP also addressed the importance of public-private partnerships in enhancing efficiency and accountability. He encouraged collaboration between government agencies, private logistics companies, and healthcare providers to ensure that the supply chain operates seamlessly.
Delegates at the AGM applauded the MP’s address, acknowledging that a well-managed health supply chain is foundational to achieving universal healthcare coverage. The Essikado Ketan MP stressed that Ghana must continue to innovate and adopt best practices from global health systems to address challenges such as rural access, emergency preparedness, and pandemic response.
He concluded by reiterating that investments in health supply chains are not only about logistics but also about protecting human lives and building resilient health systems that can adapt to future challenges.
