The Chief Executive Officer of Bibiani Gold Stars has strongly advocated for Bibiani to be chosen as the official site for the proposed Western North Regional Stadium. In his view Bibiani offers the best combination of infrastructure population football support and geographical accessibility to serve the entire region.
Speaking at a community engagement forum the CEO explained that Bibiani has developed into one of the region’s most active sporting hubs. He noted that the town’s central location enables easy travel from major settlements in the region including Sefwi Wiawso Juaboso and Essam. Placing the stadium in Bibiani he argued would maximise attendance economic activity and regional participation.
Beyond football the CEO believes the stadium would boost youth development through athletics community sports festivals and training programmes. He emphasised that a well equipped stadium will create opportunities for young people enhance tourism and improve investor confidence in the region.
Local businesses have expressed strong support for the proposal. Shop owners hoteliers and transport operators say the town stands to benefit from increased commercial activity. They also noted that new infrastructure would create jobs in construction maintenance hospitality and event management.
Some residents in other districts have however argued that their towns also deserve consideration. They claim that resource allocation should reflect fairness and population distribution. Nonetheless several independent analysts say Bibiani’s strong sporting identity makes it the leading contender.
Regional authorities are expected to review feasibility studies from all proposed locations before a final decision is made. For now Bibiani remains at the centre of the debate.
