Describing the act as “tragic and senseless,” the MP expressed her shock and deep disappointment over the violent incident.
The fatal altercation, which occurred on the school premises in central Accra, has sparked concern over rising youth violence in schools and the general safety of students within academic institutions.
MP Vows to Support Investigations and Ensure Justice
Dr. Agyeman-Rawlings stated that she would collaborate closely with the Ghana Police Service and all relevant authorities to ensure a thorough investigation into the incident.
“I am shocked and disappointed. I condemn the act of violence and I will collaborate with the Ghana Police Service and other relevant authorities to investigate the matter at hand and to ensure that justice is served,” she said in a statement.
She extended her condolences to the family of the deceased and called for calm within the community, urging students and the public to refrain from retaliation and allow the legal process to take its course.
This tragedy has reignited discussions around school security, the need for strengthened guidance and counseling services, and broader interventions to address youth conflict and violence in Ghanaian schools.
